VINTAGE HERTFORDSHIRE WEDDING | HENRY MOORE STUDIOS AND GARDENS | WHITE HORSE | JOJO & ALEX

Henry Moore Studios and Gardens - Bride and Groom standing under The Arch Sculpture

IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A VINTAGE, SUSTAINABLE WEDDING USING LOCAL SUPPLIERS, WITH A SMATTERING OF MODERN ART, THEN THIS WEDDING IS FULL OF INSPIRATION!

The dress was a gorgeous vintage find from Rock the Frock Bridal Pre Loved and Jojo's stunning bouquet and hair crown was made entirely from dried flowers and grasses grown locally in Hertfordshire and lovingly put together by Ellie, flower farmer and floral designer at Wilt Studios, so they would be everlasting mementos of the day. The vintage VW camper van as stylish retro Wedding Transport completed the theme and was a great dramatic touch!

Jojo and Alex thought it important to support the wealth of local businesses that we're lucky enough to enjoy here in Hertfordshire, so chose lots of lovely local suppliers for all other elements of their day.

WEDDING CEREMONY IN THE 16th CENTURY AISLED BARN, HENRY MOORE STUDIO AND GARDENS

Jojo travelled with her father and daughter in style, in the VW Camper Van, to the Henry Moore Studios and Gardens for the Wedding ceremony held in the stunning aisled barn, surrounded by unique tapestries commissioned by Henry Moore of his work. The ceremony was a real family affair, with Jojo and Alex's two children both involved. Their daughter made a very pretty flower girl, scattering rose petals from a basket as they walked down the aisle, wearing a dried flower crown to match her mum. Their son looked handsome in his bowtie and waistcoat, proudly guarding the wedding rings until they were needed.

PORTRAITS AMONGST THE IMPOSING SCULPTURES AT THE HENRY MOORE STUDIOS AND GARDENS, CONFETTI, GATE VAULTING AND EPIC SAUSAGE ROLLS.

After the ceremony the guests enjoyed refreshments courtesy of the Rocking Horse Mobile Bar, including delicious sausage rolls from Soka Food. Meanwhile I was able to explore the grounds with the Bride and Groom to get some portraits amongst the sculptures. Jojo and Alex were extremely game - our photo session included a hike through a sheep field and they even scaled a fence to get to the hilltop sculpture - wedding dress and wedge heels notwithstanding! Maybe not too surprising from the couple who had the most incredible wedding proposal atop the Norwegian Kjeragbolten (Google it!!)

ON TO THE WHITE HORSE, HERTINGFORDBURY FOR THE WEDDING RECEPTION AND SPEECHES

After the ceremony and formal photographs, we returned to the White Horse Hotel in Hertingfordbury for the reception. Jojo and Alex made quite an entrance returning in the VW camper van waving through the sunroof! The guests were able to make the most of the outside bar and hog roast in the sunshine before the speeches.

DECORATIVE TOUCHES AND DETAILS

Jojo and Alex managed to incorporate lots of personal touches into their day, which made it extra special. Jojo's russian style wedding ring of three intertwined bands, was made using gold from her parents' wedding rings. She, her sister and her daughter also wore matching simple gold heart pendants made from her grandma's melted down gold jewellery.

The cake was a traditional Norwegian celebration cake called a Kransekake - Rings of almond cakes stacked into a huge tower - to incorporate Alex's Norwegian heritage.

WHAT THE COUPLE SAY:

'Sarah’s ability to slip into the day and be present in all the perfect moments without overpowering any moment is a skill that is hard to master, but she did it perfectly. Her smiley, calm presence was a wonderful addition to the day. And the photos are just beautiful, we have had nothing but wonderful comments from our guests about Sarah and her photos.I cannot recommend her enough to be part of your big day!'
